Time Calculator formula
Times are converted to seconds, added or subtracted, then converted back: 1 hour = 60 minutes = 3,600 seconds. If the end time is earlier than the start time, it is treated as the next day.
Worked example
2 h 45 m + 1 h 30 m = 4 h 15 m. 9:30 AM to 6:15 PM with a 30-minute break = 8 h 15 m (8.25 hours).

How do I add hours and minutes?
Add the minutes; if they pass 60, carry 1 hour. Or use the calculator above.
How do I calculate hours worked?
Use 'Time between clock times', enter start and end, and subtract your break.
What are decimal hours?
Hours written as a decimal: 8 h 15 m = 8.25 hours. Timesheets and payroll often use this.
Does it work for night shifts?
Yes. If the end time is earlier than the start, it is counted as the next day.
Can I subtract times?
Yes. Choose Subtract in the add/subtract mode.
